1. National Monment



National Monument or popularly abbreviated or Tugu Monas National Monument is a memorial at 132 meters (433 feet). Monument erected to commemorate the resistance and struggle of the people of Indonesia to win independence from Dutch colonial rule. Construction of the monument began on August 17, 1961 - under the orders of President Sukarno, and was opened to the public on July 12, 1975. This monument crowned flame sheet coated gold that symbolizes the spirit of struggle burning. Monas is located right in the middle of the field Merdeka Square, Central Jakarta. Monuments and museums are open every day starting at 08:00 to 15:00. On Monday last week of the month is closed to the public.



2. Museum Youth Pledge


This museum is a museum of the history of struggle for independence of the Republic of Indonesia which is located in Jalan Raya No. Kramat. 106, Central Jakarta and is managed by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, Republic of Indonesia. The museum opened to the public, every Tuesday through Friday from 08:00 until 15:00, every Saturday and Sunday at 08:00 to 14:00 pm, and on Mondays and national holidays, the museum is closed to the public.

The museum has a collection of photographs and objects relating to the history of the Youth Pledge in 1928, as well as activities in the national movement of youth in Indonesia. Youth Pledge museum was founded by decree of the Governor of DKI Jakarta in 1972 and a national cultural heritage objects.



3. Sasmita Loka Ahmad Yani Museum



This museum is one of the national heroes of the museum which is located in Lembang No. path. Laruharhari No. 58 and the road. 65, Jakarta Pusat. The museum is open to the public from Tuesday to Sunday, from 08.00 - 14.00. Every Monday the museum is closed to the public. 4. Inscription Garden Museum




This museum is a museum of cultural heritage relics of the Dutch colonial located in Jalan Tanah Abang No.. 1, Central Jakarta. The museum has a collection of ancient gravestone inscriptions and a miniature graves typical of 27 provinces in Indonesia, along with a collection of antique hearse. Museum of 1.2 ha is an open-air museum that displays works of art from the past about the sophistication of the sculptor, engraver, calligrapher, and poet who fused.



5. Maritime Museum



Maritime Museum is a museum that holds collections relating to maritime and kenelayanan of Indonesia from Sabang to Merauke is located across from the Port of Sunda Kelapa. At the time of the Dutch occupation of this building was once a warehouse that serves to store, pick, and pack crops, such as spice VOCs which are the main commodity that is in demand in the European market.

The building that stands directly beside the estuary Liwung Ci has two sides, the west side known as Westzijdsche Pakhuizen or Western Warehouse (built in stages starting in 1652-1771) and the east side, called Oostzijdsche Pakhuizen or East Warehouse. West warehouse consists of four unit building, and three units of which are now used as the Maritime Museum. This building was originally used to store merchandise major VOC in the archipelago, namely spices, coffee, tea, copper, tin, and textiles.

During the Japanese occupation, the buildings were used as a place to store goods logistics Japanese soldiers. After Indonesia Merdeka, the building is used by PLN and PTT for the warehouse. In 1976, this heritage building restored, and then on July 7, 1977 was inaugurated as the Maritime Museum.



6. Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics


Fine Arts and Ceramics Museum is located at No. 2 Jalan Pos Kota, West Jakarta Municipality. Museum is located exactly opposite the Jakarta History Museum displays local ceramics from various regions in the country, from the kingdom of Majapahit era 14th century, and from many countries around the world.



7. Puppet Museum


The museum is located at Great Northern Way Door No. 27, West Jakarta. Wayang Museum displaying various types and forms of puppets from all over Indonesia, both made of wood and leather and other materials. Puppets from overseas there are also here, for example, of the People's Republic of China and Cambodia. Up to now the Wayang Museum collects more than 4,000 pieces of puppets, shadow puppets made up, puppet show, puppet cardboard, grass puppets, puppet leaf, masks, dolls, puppets and gamelan beber.

Generally dolls that were collected in this museum are the dolls that come from Europe, although there are also those who came from non-European countries such as Thailand, Suriname, China, Vietnam, India, and Colombia. 8. Fatahillah Museum


Fatahillah Museum, also known as the Jakarta History Museum or Batavia Museum is a museum located at Jalan Taman Fatahillah No.. 2, West Jakarta. This building used to be a City Hall (Dutch: Stadhuis), which was built in 1707-1710 by order of the Governor-General Johan van Hoorn. The building resembles the Dam Palace in Amsterdam, consists of a main building with two wings on the east and west as well as sanding building used as offices, court rooms, and underground spaces are used as a prison. On March 30, 1974, this building was inaugurated as Fatahillah Museum.



9. Monument to Heroes of the Revolution


Monument to Heroes of the Revolution was built on the idea of ​​the 2nd President of Indonesia, Suharto. Built on a land area of ​​14.6 hectares. The monument was built with the aim of considering the struggle of the revolutionary heroes who fought to maintain the ideology of the Republic of Indonesia, Pancasila ideology of the communist threat.

The six heroes of the revolution are:

2. Maj. Gen. R. Suprapto
3. Maj. Gen. M.T. Haryono
4. Maj. Gen. Siswondo Parman
5. Brigadier General DI Panjaitan
6. Brigadier General NLI Siswomiharjo

Gen. A.H. Nasution also referred to as one of the targets, but he survived the assassination attempt. Instead, his daughter Ade Irma Suryani Nasution and AH Nasution aide, First Lieutenant Pierre Tendean killed in the assassination attempt. The monument is located in Lubang Buaya, Cipayung, East Jakarta, containing an assortment of things from the rebellion G30S - PKI, such as original clothing the revolutionary heroes.



10. Cathedral Church Jakarta



Jakarta Cathedral Church (official name: Santa Maria Protector Appointed to Heaven, De Kerk van Onze Lieve Vrouwe ten Hemelopneming) was established in 1901 and is built with a neo-gothic architecture of Europe, which is a very commonly used architecture to build a church building a few centuries ago.

The present church was designed and initiated by Father Anthony Dijkmans and the first stone laid by Carolus Provicaris Wenneker. This work was followed by Cuypers-Hulswit when Dijkmans could not continue, and was inaugurated and blessed on 21 April 1901 by Mgr. Edmundus Sybradus Luypen, SJ, Vicar Apostolic of Jakarta.

Cathedral as we know it is not exactly the original church building in that place, because the original cathedral was inaugurated in February 1810, but on July 27, 1826 the church building was burned along with 180 houses in the vicinity. Then, on May 31, 1890 in the sunny weather, the Church also had collapsed.
